Chief Marketing & Communications Officer role with the 2026 Games Organising Company
We are actively recruiting into the key role of Chief Marketing and Communications Officer in readiness of Scotland being formally awarded the 2026 Commonwealth Games. It will be the biggest sporting and cultural event to be held in Scotland in the last decade.
As Chief Marketing & Communications Officer of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Organising Company you will lead and oversee all aspects of marketing, public relations, communications, and ceremonial events related to the Glasgow Games. Initially tasked with recruiting a high-performing team across the marketing communications and ceremonies functions, you will play a pivotal role in promoting the Games by developing impactful marketing and communication strategies that enhance the brand’s visibility whilst ensuring effective engagement with diverse audiences.
With significant experience in senior marketing and communications roles within major events or similar environments, you will bring a strong background in building and managing high-profile brands. You will also have direct experience in successfully procuring and managing contracts with suppliers. A proven leader, you will have a track record of building high-performing teams and fostering a collaborative work environment. In addition, you will bring in-depth knowledge of digital marketing and social media strategies, along with the ability to innovate, drive engagement, and think strategically. Your ability to balance long-term objectives with short-term results in a fast-paced environment will be key.
