Our client is launching an exciting new food concept in Peckham, delivering a premium menu of authentic contemporary barbecue and modern bodega-style subs and sandwiches. They are seeking a skilled Chef de Partie to join their kitchen team and help bring their vision of original, mouthwatering comfort food to life.
Position Overview
As a Chef de Partie, you will play a crucial role in preparing the delicious food that comes out of the kitchen. Working under the supervision of the Sous Chef or Head Chef, you will be assigned a specific station such as vegetable prep, stove or grill. Your culinary expertise and attention to detail will ensure each dish meets the high standards of quality and creativity.
You'll be part of a growth-minded team passionate about delivering quality food and experiences to customers in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up the kitchen prior to opening, ensuring readiness
- Prepare assigned kitchen station with necessary food containers
- Cook specific portions of each plated meal to order
- Assist with marinating, cutting and precooking of foods
- Clean and sanitise kitchen and station at close
- Wrap and properly store unused items after each shift
- Plate and pack food creatively for maximum customer enjoyment
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar kitchen role
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- In-depth knowledge of baking, cooking and grilling techniques
- Thrives under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Quick learner of new recipes and cooking procedures
- Team player with efficient and cooperative work style
- Effective problem-solving skills
