Chief Finance & Corporates Services Officer role with the 2026 Games Organising Company
We are actively recruiting into the key role of Chief Finance & Corporate Services Officer in readiness of Scotland being formally awarded the 2026 Commonwealth Games. It will be the biggest sporting and cultural event to be held in Scotland in the last decade.
As Chief Finance & Corporate Services Officer of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Organising Company you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity, sustainability, and overall success of the Glasgow Games. You will be responsible for delivering the Games on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of excellence. Having initially recruited relevant heads of function, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to a multi-disciplinary and high-performing team across the following functions: Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Procurement & Contract Management and Commercial. The successful candidate will also oversee the procurement, negotiation, and management of major contracts, whilst also developing strong relationships with the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) and its commercial partners to maximise commercial opportunities and revenue generation.
You will be a fully qualified accountant with a proven track record of success in senior leadership roles. You will bring extensive experience in strategic financial planning, robust financial management, and leading multi-disciplinary teams to achieve operational excellence while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Politically astute, you will have the ability to navigate complex political environments and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders at all levels. Your experience in negotiating and managing high-value contracts with suppliers, sponsors, and partners will be crucial in securing favourable terms and aligning these relationships with strategic goals.
