Are you an experienced Cost Manager with a background working on complex projects?
Our client is currently seeking an experienced Cost Manager to join a leading engineering nuclear industry to manage and support all cost-related issues on a £1.6Bn nuclear build project.
As a Cost Manager, you will provide support to the management team on Cost Management matters, ensure reporting is produced in a timely manner, and work to support the Cost Engineer as required.
Main responsibilities:
- Provide support to the management team on Cost Management matters, ensuring reporting is produced in a timely manner, works to support the Cost Engineer as required.
- Experience of working in a wider Project Controls team on complex projects.
- Detailed working knowledge of cost engineering functions, cost control and cost analysis.
- Drive performance standards and technical excellence through expert communication.
- Support Project Manager(s) and Programme Manager in Monthly Finance and Delivery Reviews.
- Engagement with Finance as required, ensuring all supporting evidence is available as needed.
- In addition to the management functions, the Cost Manager will also be required to support Cost Engineering functions, by working with the Project Manager(s) to provide informed forecasts for the Project (for the Financial Year and Project Lifecycle).
- Collaborate with the Project Planner to ensure forecasts are informed and aligned to the programme.
- Raise purchase and contract requisitions and occasionally receive invoices within the relevant internal system.
- Develop and support the Cost Engineer.
- Able to communicate professionally and effectively with a variety of Stakeholders.
Qualifications required:
- Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar qualification.
- Ideally 5+ years’ experience estimating. It’s great if you also have the following, Ideally Chartered status.
- Relevant Professional Membership or working towards.
- CEMAR experience.
- NEC Experience, Preferred.
