Gifted insurance professionals seeking a challenging role to utilise their industry knowledge will surely relish the opportunity to join this prestigious global broker’s dedicated Technical Team. Based within the Global Broking Centre, this team lends its expertise to colleagues based across the globe whose clients’ Casualty exposures are so complex they require placement in the London market.
This is a varied role that will give you exposure to a number of interesting projects and support some of the biggest clients in the business’ portfolio, including some of the largest and best-known companies on the planet; such as blue-chip names from Tech’, Pharma, Automotive and Retail.
Working in a highly collaborative fashion, you will help coordinate colleagues from across the brokerage, ensuring that a unified proposition is delivered to corporate clients. This includes analysing wordings and coverage, carrying out policy reviews and comparisons, and collaborating with the market to create standardised wordings.
You must proactively research and analyse industry news, trends and emerging risks, in order to provide high quality thought leadership and articles, and help to identify and develop new products and services. You will also assist with creating a variety of documentation, from business templates and training material, though to reports on competitor and insurer activity / propositions. With a sense of gravitas and authority, you will also help to manage relationships with external stakeholders such as professional bodies like the CII and BIBA.
As well as candidates from corporate broking, we welcome applications from all areas of the industry such as Underwriting, Claims and Risk Management. However, it is essential that you are a subject matter specialist on Casualty / Liability business with exposure to dealing with corporate clients (ideally including global risks), together with a knowledge of the trading styles of sophisticated insurance buyers. Knowledge of captive arrangements would certainly add weight to your application.
You must be a wordings expert who is able to draft, interpretate and negotiate policies. You will also have excellent stakeholder-management skills, and be able to secure ‘buy in’ from colleagues and clients alike, as well as helping to manage relationships with professionals bodies.
It’s essential that you are well-organised, with excellent task-management skills, and able to work on a number of complex projects simultaneously. You must also be highly analytical and detailed-oriented; able to drill down on a subject and effectively report your findings.
It is anticipated that you will be FCII or ACII qualified, although we are certainly willing to consider applications from outstanding candidates who have chosen not to pursue qualifications under the Chartered Insurance Institute.
This is a hybrid-working position, where you will be able to work at home 2-3 days per week, if desired.
