Overview:
Everest People Solutions is recruiting for an HR Advisor for a large food processing business based in Wolverhampton. As HR Advisor, you will assist with the day-to-day operations of HR functions, providing clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources Manager. This HR Advisor involves compiling and updating employee absence records, monitoring Bradford Factor Points, and processing documentation related to staffing, recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
The HR Advisor will coordinate HR projects, manage employee requests, conduct orientations, and ensure right-to-work compliance. Additionally, the role involves preparing disciplinary correspondence, maintaining filing systems, assisting with hiring processes, and ensuring compliance with Employment Law and external audit requirements. The HR Advisor will support various HR activities, including working practices, recruitment, pay, conditions of employment, staff welfare, and equality and diversity initiatives, while also liaising with external agencies and managing their performance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Human Resources Advisor:
- Manage absence and sickness.
- Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
- Engage with employees to foster a collaborative and flexible culture that allows them to achieve their full potential and contribute to the company.
- Ensure effective planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee performance by training managers to coach and discipline employees.
- Promote equality and diversity as integral parts of the company culture.
- Recruit staff, including developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing, and selecting candidates.
- Plan and conduct new employee orientations to foster a positive attitude toward company goals.
- Investigate and conduct disciplinary hearings.
- Maintain personnel files and employee records.
- Interpret and advise on employment law, ensuring compliance.
- Handle grievances and implement disciplinary procedures.
- Educate and develop managers, supervisors, and charge hands on HR law.
- Plan and occasionally deliver training, including inductions for new staff.
Requirements for the Human Resources Advisor:
- Previous experience in food manufacturing is desirable
- CIPD qualified or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
