About our client:
Our client is made up of six business units, each of which aspires to innovate, influence, and inspire others through high-quality and purposeful education and training. This is a national group of 13 independent OFSTED-regulated schools.
Our clientsupport approximately 35 pupils on roll to ensure that we can provide ample opportunities for children who need a nurturing, encouraging and supportive environment, specifically for those who will reintegrate back into a mainstream setting. The school consists of a core team of the Head of School, Deputy Head of School, up to seven teachers, and five support staff. Further support is also provided by regional and national staff, who work with a number of schools across the group.

What they are looking for:
Qualifications:
- Hold a teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS)
- National Award for SEN Co-ordination / NPQ for SENCOs (or be in first 3 years of a SENCO role)
- Degree or equivalent.
- NPQSL and/or NPQH (desirable)
Management & Organization Skills:
- A highly motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic person who is approachable and promotes positive relationships and has high expectations. Ability to effectively manage student discipline and have a commitment to a high level of pastoral care
Partnership & Community Engagement:
- Proven experience working collaboratively with parents, community organizations, and stakeholders to support students with diverse and challenging needs.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of equality of opportunity, safeguarding, child protection and inclusion issues and how they can be addressed effectively in schools with high levels of vulnerable children
Problem-Solving:
- Ability to quickly identify and address challenges faced by students, ensuring appropriate follow-up and support for their individual needs.
Communication:
- To be able to communicate clearly and persuasively, both orally and in writing, with a diverse range of audiences, including children, parents and carers, governors, and colleagues
Experience:
- Experience teaching across the secondary age range, with a proven track record as a creative and adaptabe Head of SENwho inspires and motivates students. Familiarity with virtual learning environments is desirable.
