Building Services Design Engineer, HVAC - West Kent, England
Our client is a leader in the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), Air Source Heat Pumps and Refrigeration field, offering design, installation and maintenance with an established traditional building services consulting practice based in West Kent.
As part of strategic growth plans, this highly respected company is looking for an experienced Building Services Design Engineer with existing industry expertise to join the team immediately.
Role Description
This immediate start vacancy offers excellent exposure to projects of strategic significance and room for career progression at pace. With a breadth of public sector and commercial clients in the education, healthcare, residential, and technology space, your core responsibilities will extend to:
• Meeting with clients and design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements.
• Carrying out site surveys to determine requirements and to assist with pricing for installation works with varying degrees of design requirements.
• Conducting research to inform the design and engineering methods required for the mechanical systems.
• Documenting the design process, managing project timelines, resources, and budgets.
• Liaising with clients, designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence.
• Preparing technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals.
• Presenting proposals to clients and external project team members.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate would be a Mid-Level Engineer or Senior Engineer with chartered status and directly industry relevant expertise seeking to advance their career. As well as demonstrating a commitment to exceptional service delivery and the ability to confidently take a step up, the successful applicant will have:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering/relevant degree.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer.
• Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
• Critically-minded with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in using common design software, such as AutoCAD etc.
• Strong awareness of advancements in technology and engineering design trends.
