Are you tired of doing the same thing day in, day out, with no real impact? Here’s a role where you’ll actually have the chance to make a difference every day.
You’ll be the heartbeat of your Section. And by “heartbeat,” I mean you’ll be running a tight ship, ensuring everything and everyone in your area operates at peak efficiency, within budget, and to
exacting quality standards.
The role isn’t about sitting in an office checking boxes. You’ll be responsible for:
Leading your team – from operatives to managers, you’ll set the tone and expectations.
Meeting high-performance targets – working alongside the Production Manager, you’ll know your numbers and work to beat them.
Promoting teamwork – and making sure that the whole team knows their purpose, hits targets, and consistently surpasses what’s expected.
Full paperwork – at the end of every shift, all paperwork will be complete, checked, and correct.
Ensuring safety – no machine runs in an unsafe manner under your watch, period.
Liaising with Tech & Engineering – you’ll keep the production line running smooth and efficient by tackling technical issues proactively.
Leading on hygiene – cleanliness isn’t just about compliance; it’s the standard you set.
Handling HR matters – from disciplinaries to grievances, you’ll make sure team issues are sorted and standards are maintained.
There’s more, but you get the picture – this role is about keeping all the plates spinning without dropping a single one.
Who are we looking for?
If you’re from a food manufacturing background, know your way around continuous improvement and lean principles, and have a track record of managing people as well as quality, safety, and costs – you’ll fit right in.
Here’s the essentials:
- Relevant H&S certifications (IOSH, Level 3 H&S)
- HACCP certification
- Experience with continuous improvement and lean tools
- Solid record in team management and customer interaction
This is not a “hands-off” management role – it’s for someone who’s all about getting things done and who isn’t afraid to be on the floor, solving problems, and bringing their team up to the next level.
If that sounds like you, then let’s talk.
