Job Title: Product Engineer

You would be working for the Magnetron Engineering Team that provides full product lifecycle support across a portfolio of vacuum devices, used in commercial, defence and novel applications.
Responsibilities:
The main goal of the position is to support manufacturing's test procedures in order to adhere to stringent quality requirements, meet production goals, and deliver products on time (OTD). The management of capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects, continuous improvement initiatives, working with clients to comprehend system and product performance concerns, product failure analysis, and reporting on client returns are additional jobs that may be involved.
The utilisation of exotic materials, vacuum procedures, and RF testing are just a few of the niche industries where there are opportunities to learn and grow.
Experience:
- A minimum of five years of experience working as an engineer in a production setting
- A track record of designing jigs.
- A working understanding of at least one of the following: RF testing, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, or manufacturing.
- A track record of producing technical reports.
Desired Experience/Competencies:
- Experience in the design of: manufacture (DFM), assembly (DFA) or test (DFT).
- Materials and their characteristics, including grain patterns, annealing temperatures, compatibility with vacuum, etc.
- Thermodynamics and its effects on material characteristics and production techniques.
- joining methods (TIG welding, brazing, induction heating)
- Electronic/electrical manufacturing: waveguides, soldering, high voltage, and test procedures (scopes, analysers, power meters, attenuation, etc.)
- Knowledge of quality standards and problem-solving techniques: Lean & Six Sigma methodology, 8D, A3, and CI are a few examples.
Desired Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant engineering subject or equivalent qualification.
