Job title: 2nd Line Field Service Engineer

About the role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Field Services Engineer to join our IT team. In this role, you will serve as the "eyes, ears, and boots on the ground," providing hands-on technical support while leading and coordinating the activities of the Field Engineering team.
What you will be doing
- Provide on-site IT support at the Skelmersdale site, ensuring optimal system performance and rapid resolution of technical issues.
- Lead and coordinate the Field Engineering team, managing task allocation, scheduling, and resources to ensure smooth operations.
- Liaise closely with 3rd line engineers and IT support teams, effectively communicating issues and solutions to facilitate prompt resolution.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of hardware, including Windows 11 devices, Alletra servers, HP printers, and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Act as the first responder for technical incidents and outages, identifying and addressing issues promptly, and coordinating responses with relevant teams.

- Ability to clearly explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring effective understanding and decision-making.
- Strong team player, working effectively with colleagues across IT and other departments to provide top-tier support.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, enabling the quick diagnosis and resolution of technical issues.
You will have the following experience:
- Expertise in installing servers, switches, routers, and other networking equipment, ensuring accurate setup and rack installation.
- Proficiency in organising and managing cables for a tidy, efficient setup, optimising performance and long-term maintenance.
- Familiarity with Windows 11, Office 365, Alletra servers, Palo Alto firewalls, and HP printer
