Job description:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing innovative mechanical solutions for both new and legacy Electronic Warfare products. You'll work hands-on with 3D CAD software, conduct structural analyses, and deliver cost-effective designs within timescales. You'll collaborate with various engineering teams and manage aspects of the engineering work package, ensuring products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design using 3D CAD software and perform structural analysis.
- Develop and deliver optimised, innovative designs while meeting budget and deadlines.
- Manage your own work package elements and ensure high-quality results.
- Work collaboratively across engineering functions, supporting product manufacturability and problem-solving.
- Liaise with suppliers and attend visits at other UK sites as required.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in a relevant technical or science field, with aerospace-related experience.
- Proven ability in mechanical engineering design and analysis (including GD&T and BS8888 standards).
- Proficient in CAD tools (preferably Creo), with a solid understanding of material selection and manufacturing techniques.
- Familiar with ERP, PLM, and PDM systems (Teamcenter and SAP are beneficial).
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards this.
