This brand-new role of Creative Lead is working within a growing, energetic Birmingham-based marketing design agency that has grown organically over the past 5 years. They are housed with a team of talented Creatives, Account Handlers and Strategists, and they have cultivated a talented team that is friendly, curious, open-minded and very collaborative and are now looking for a new Creative Lead to join them. This role comes with a very generous package that includes a hybrid working 4 day working week (3 onsite, 1 WFH and Fridays off) and 24 days holiday (where only 4 days are needed for a full week’s holiday), you will be pushed to find a more flexible role whilst balancing the excellent creative work that you will be delivering to global clients.

As an agency, their clients are mainly in the FMCG space. It’s what they are brilliant at and they are entrusted by Global brands to be their brand guardians and grow their brands and new products. They create a broad mix of creative work that includes brand campaign work, pack design and on pack promotions, online activation, shopper marketing, creating Global brand toolkits and more recently some ATL work. And, they have just created their first TV advert.
Working with Global Brands, they produce the core concepts for many NPDs, then participate in workshops with the client and 2 other London-based agencies to ensure successful campaigns and new products are brought to the supermarket shelves. They have also been doing some more work in the ATL space and along with their first TV advert, have more ATL work planned in the next 12 months for one of their clients.
The Role
Working closely with the Creative Director and their senior leadership team, you will encourage the studio team’s creative and technical abilities, come up with conceptual ideas and work with their Designers and Artworkers to bring your ideas to life. You have hands-on design skills as well as conceptual skills and can both art direct and design.
You will manage and mentor other Designers in the team, helping to develop them and their careers.
This Creative Lead will work with the design team to write concept rationales and create presentations that shine and sell their work and ideas that a client will delight in. You will also brief, collaborate and oversee freelance design resource most of which is remote.
You are comfortable being in and leading client meetings (in the absence of the Creative Director), and you are happy to present and deliver your concepts and participate in workshops.

About You
- You have a career history of working within agencies and are looking for an agency where you can be heard and are instrumental in the growth and development of the agency and team.
- You are curious, continually wanting to learn more and are happy to challenge how they think and work with clients and briefs, they are open to feedback and improvements and want someone who enjoys innovating.
- You are a strong conceptual thinker who has a portfolio that showcases your ideas as well as a good eye for design and can take your ideas through to final delivery if needed (although you have full support from the design and artwork team).
- You enjoy leading, managing and mentoring other creatives, with more growth earmarked for 2025, you will be involved with recruitment and training of creatives within the team.
- You are open-minded and enjoy a role that can evolve and grow with you and with the agency and have the enthusiasm and confidence to share ideas about the business and your role.
- You are happy to speak your mind, are confident to raise any concerns or ideas, have integrity are open-minded, and are a supportive team member.
