Role Overview
The Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the promotion and positioning of St Michaels Resort. This role oversees the creation, publication, and distribution of content across all channels, supporting sales, marketing, and operational initiatives while enhancing the brand’s business growth and reputation. The Marketing Manager will manage the resort’s digital presence, ensuring the website, booking engine, and social media platforms are optimized for driving targeted, engaged traffic.
This position will shape and execute the overall marketing strategy for all areas of the resort, including Rooms, Food & Drink, Meetings & Events, the Health Club, Spa, and self-catering apartments, with the goal of increasing revenue across all markets and segments. The role will also manage the annual marketing activation plan, focusing on attracting business during low and shoulder seasons while improving the guest experience during peak times.
Additionally, the Marketing Manager will act as the primary liaison with PR agencies, media outlets, creative partners, and other promotional entities, ensuring cohesive and effective communication of the resort’s brand.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Budget Management
· Lead and manage marketing projects, clearly defining scope, objectives, and timelines while meeting deadlines and contingency planning.
· Monitor and manage the yearly marketing budget.
· Stay current with industry trends, innovations, and regulations to maintain a competitive edge and compliance.
Team Leadership
· Oversee the marketing team, ensuring performance targets are met.
· Build brand awareness through campaigns, awards, and other promotional activities.
Marketing Campaigns
· Develop and implement creative marketing campaigns across all channels.
· Actively represent the resort at client events, networking functions, and familiarization visits.
· Continuously analyse and enhance the website to increase traffic, engagement, and conversions.
Digital Marketing & CRM
· Manage and optimize digital advertising campaigns, including PPC, Display, Retargeting, Meta, and Paid Social.
· Drive the resort’s content strategy to improve SEO and engagement.
· Produce weekly reports on digital performance and recommend actions to influence trading.
· Manage segmented email campaigns to enhance CRM functionality.
· Develop and own the resort’s digital roadmap, ensuring an exceptional guest journey.
Content & Collateral Management
· Oversee the production of both print and digital content, coordinating with stakeholders and clearly outlining objectives, deadlines, and contingency plans.
· Manage the creative process for collateral, from concept to final product, including copywriting and layout decisions.
· Proofread all sales, marketing, and guest-facing materials.
· Brief in-house designers and collaborate with external agencies for larger projects.
· Manage relationships with printers and mail houses.
· Ensure all resort areas adhere to brand guidelines.
Public Relations & Social Media
· Collaborate with the PR agency to establish the resort brand at the national level.
· Support the development and execution of all PR, marketing, and communications activities.
· Build partnerships with local businesses to create new products and drive local PR campaigns.
· Ensure a strong social media presence and engage with online audiences to maximize brand exposure.
· Work with the PR agency to evaluate influencer partnerships and other growth opportunities.
Administration
· Maintain well-organized marketing filing systems.
· Manage the image library, ensuring current images are used across all media.
· Organize photoshoots and video production.
· Track marketing expenses and ensure they align with budget constraints.
Professional Attributes, Skills & Experience
· Min 5 years marketing experience with 2 years team management.
· Hospitality & tourism experience beneficial.
· Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments and external partners.
· Professional and courteous communication skills, both in person and over the phone.
· Excellent organizational, administrative, and project management abilities.
· Strong attention to detail with effective research and problem-solving skills.
· Proficient in GA4 analysis and reporting.
· Collaborative team player, flexible, and resourceful under pressure.
· Experience in marketing, PR, collateral production, and project management.
· Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office.
· Familiarity with graphic file storage and distribution methods.
· Ability to manage tight deadlines and schedules.
· Experience in hospitality marketing is advantageous, but not essential.
· Proficiency in design software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) is a plus.
