This role centres around supporting the Director of Finance. You will be the companies lead for all employee and benefits costs matters, VAT and duty accounting, credit card receipts. You will play a key role in improving processes and systems.
How you will deliver
You will be an integral part of the team in one of the most famous luxury businesses in the UK. As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for a range of tasks to support the running of the business.
Lead a team of six to deliver accurate and efficient Cash & Banking, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, and Stock Control for 10 showrooms and head office.
Work with the payroll bureau to ensure timely and accurate payment of employees and payroll taxes, and prepare end-of-tax-year returns and reports. Act as company administrator for the pension plan.
Prepare and submit compliant VAT and duty returns and ensure timely payment.
Review and reconcile balance sheet and profit and loss accounts, prepare variance analysis and commentaries, and close period end and year-end in Sage X3, resolving errors.
Act as the point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors, prepare financial statement notes and disclosures and support the preparation and filing of corporation tax returns.
Handle ONS, FCA, and similar returns, lead process and system improvements for better controls and operations, and perform other duties as required.
Your Skills & Experience
Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA preferred (finalists with a strong exam and career record)
At least 5 years industry experience
Able to work at pace and able to balance and meet different priorities and demands
Very high degree of attention to detail and accuracy
Polished, professional and confident as befits an award-winning luxury retailer.
