Pre Sales Software Consultant
An exceptional opportunity for an experienced Presales Software Consultant / Solutions Consultant to participate in the continued growth of an established British software technology SME which successfully specialises in highly innovative data, document, file & record discovery, analytics and management software including advanced Content Analytics R&D.
The software developments are all Microsoft stack .net web-based applications and services using SQL which extends across very advanced file discovery & analytics, document redaction and document management including cloud services.
This mid to senior role (depending on experience) is customer facing to provide pre-sales technical guidance & sales cycle progress from initial customer contact to requirements scoping and solution demonstration through to oversight of installation and implementation including ‘Train the Trainer’ (systems admin training).
Effectively, this involves direct participation right through to ‘Go-Live’ dealing with new and existing customers in liaison with internal team members (commercial & technical) to understand customer requirements & issues and to formulate appropriate responses & solutions. There is a very effective sales lead & contact generation process already in place that delivers highly qualified sales opportunities.

The ideal candidate is technically competent in the Windows technology stack with experience of hands-on software demonstration, support & requirements analysis possibly with project management skills too. The role requires experienced technical evaluation & guidance in pre-sales situations with technical sales support right through to ‘Go-Live’.
The ideal candidate will be organised, methodical, willing to take ownership for issues and to recognise and respond to customer & partner priorities. Key responsibilities:

Working closely with customers & partners to understand and capture requirements

Ensuring that the company’s solutions can deliver on the customer’s requirements

Working closely and collaboratively with customers & partners to devise effective solutions

Putting together technical use cases to support business development proposals

Attending pre-sales & scoping meetings acting as the technical sales expert

Working closely with business development & partners on proposals and pitches for business including software demonstrations

Providing ongoing technical sales support for customers through to Go-Live including systems admin training and handover

Working with commercial, software development & testing colleagues in a collegiate manner

Communicate with customers & partners courteously, effectively and with TLC

Experience:

Understanding of Software Solutions (Any knowledge of Microsoft .Net & IIS are a plus)

Confidence with Windows Servers

Experience of Microsoft Active Directory

General SQL experience including general DB Admin functions

Experience of Prince2 and ITIL would be useful
