PERSONAL ASSISTANT NEEDED
We are a family of four residing in Goldsworth Park and are seeking a personal assistant to provide support for our 12-year-old son, who has been diagnosed with functional neurological disorder (FND).
We are looking for someone to assist with his care and to provide general support around the house for a total of 6 hours per week during the following times:
Tuesday: 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Wednesday: 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Friday: 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM
The role involves caring for our son, including accompanying him on outings when necessary, as well as assisting with light household tasks. If you are reliable, compassionate, and understanding of the complexities of FND, we would love to hear from you.
Times a days my change in hoildays but this can be negotiable.
Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) in a 12-year-old boy can present with the following symptoms:
Motor Symptoms:
Sudden weakness or paralysis in the limbs.
Abnormal movements, such as tremors, jerks, or tics.
Difficulty walking or unsteady gait.
Sensory Symptoms:
Loss of sensation or numbness in certain areas of the body.
Visual disturbances, such as blurred vision or temporary blindness.
Seizure-Like Episodes:
Episodes resembling seizures (non-epileptic seizures)
Speech Difficulties:
Sudden loss of speech (mutism) or stuttering.
Emotional and Behavioral Triggers:
Symptoms may worsen with stress, fatigue, or emotional distress.
Fluctuating Nature:
Symptoms can appear or change unpredictably, causing challenges in daily functioning.
