Job Title: Civil Operative

Company Introduction
We are currently seeking to recruit experienced Civil operatives in the UK. Under the direction of the Manager & Site supervisors, applicants will be required to perform excavations, repairs and reinstatement, installation of duct, street cabinets, pulling of draw rope on telecoms infrastructure located within the public highway, streets, and up to customers premises using up to date client standard operating procedures and in full compliance to current legislation, health and safety requirements, and company policies.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives:
- Trenching and excavating, back-filling on footway and carriageway.
- Open and clear blockages.
- Tarmacking on foot-way and carriageway
- Ensure quality workmanship and compliance with health and safety policies.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Understand the Redbook guidelines: setting up the site according to NRSWA standards.
- Opening and closing trenches in fibre optic
- Pavement reinstatement, slabbing, and tarmacking
- Wear PPE: high visibility clothing, hard hats, safety glasses, boots, and gloves.
- Manage spoil on site and complete risk assessments.
- Have an understanding of civil and telecoms ground work is necessary
- Experience with Openreach network and fibre network work is essential
- Laying fibre cable from the cabinet through the track work
- Installing duct, maintenance, and repairs
Required Skills/Experience-must have (necessary)
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Background in civil telecom is a must or utilities.
- Streetworks (Mandatory)
- NOPS (Mandatory)
- SA011 (Advantage)
- BT accreditation (Any)
- Utility background
- SA002 (Advantage)
- SA006 (Advantage)
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:
- Abrasive wheels - Manual Handling
- EURS
