The Role
Our client specialises in the design and manufacture of MV/LV packaged sub stations, low voltage electrical switchboards, power distribution units, motor control panels and related final power distribution and control equipment. You will be tasked with going to customer sites across the UK to fit and maintain their switchgear.

Main Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for the production of all Risk Assessments and Method Statements for all on site works.
- Responsible for production of detailed site reports / surveys.
- You are responsible for ensuring calibration of all test equipment in line with company policy / standards.
- You will be required to be available for On Call duties and work to the call out rotas for obligations of maintenance contracts, ensuring transport, communications and appropriate documentation is available at all times.
- Be available and carry out testing and certification of completed products on the shop floor where required.
- Ensure maintenance files are updated regularly, and new data is inserted as and when appropriate due to changes that occur during your day-to-day duties.
- Manage and organise workload to incorporate all live / dead / thermal imaging maintenance works in advance of attendance.
- Effectively liaise with clients with regards to site works requirements and able to communicate and advise appropriately.
- You must be IT literate.
- Attend site and complete installations, delivery and commissioning of all company products where required.
- Organise in liaison with your line manager all on site installation and commissioning of all company jobs.
- You should have a sound engineering background and a full understanding of test processes and procedures.
- Able to fully communicate instructions to members of staff for client requirements / changes as and when required.
- Upkeep of all maintenance contracts and scheduled maintenance visits balanced to ensure planned visits are calendarised.
- You have a responsibility to ensure that all switchgear is correctly installed, tested and safe before leaving site with the appropriate paperwork completed.

The Candidate
- You should hold an Apprentice served (technician, engineering or craft) certificate
- Developed report writing skills.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of quality and H & S procedures and standards.
- Possess analytical skills.
- Knowledge of HSE regulations.
- Be commercially and market aware.
- Have sufficient industry knowledge.
- Have a good knowledge and understanding of external business environment.
- Strategic thinking.
- Relevant IT / PC skills (MS Software).
- Overall business / company knowledge.
- Well developed interpersonal skills.
- Clean driving licence (UK)
