AWE is currently recruiting for a Functional Line Manager to join the TT&E function to support the delivery of the programme portfolio.
Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Package: £ £47,690 - £60,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

Let us introduce the role
Responsibilities will include ensuring best business practices are in place. You will conduct performance reviews, make recommendations on improving policies and procedures, develop plans for scaling business operations, research channels for cost reduction and monitor accounting processes. You will act as a liaison between the TT&E Management team and the staff who implement their vision. You will be supporting scientists and engineers whilst working alongside other professional services. Therefore, an engineering background would be advantageous.
Ideal Candidates will have the following skills, experience, and behaviours:
- Proven experience of managing engineering staff.
- Experience of providing a resilient approach to driving change and supportive change management.
- The management of people and their competencies & development within your area of responsibility.
- Be able to positively engage with stakeholders at all levels; you will act as a liaison between the TET management team and the staff who implement their vision.
Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:
- Supporting the identification and solving complex operational and management challenges.
- Effective communication and influencing skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Must be willing to take on secondary roles to aid the minimum staffing for the facility you are located in.
You'll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines.

Due to the classified nature of the work involved, there are limited opportunities to work from home in this role. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will spend the majority of their time working on site at AWE Aldermaston.
