My client, a busy Plant Company, are looking for a Mobile Plant Mechanic / Plant Engineer / Field Service Engineer / Mobile Plant Engineer / Mobile Plant Fitter / Plant Engineer / Mobile HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician / Diesel Mechanic / Auto Electrician / Mechanical Engineer / Fleet Engineer to join their team in Newcastle covering Scotland as well. You will be carrying out service and maintenance on their customers fleets of Rail Plant, Machinery and HGV based Equipment.
My client is head quartered in South Wales, with depots throughout Wales and England, as they branch out into Scotland you will be critical to looking after the growing fleet of manufactured rail plant working in Scotland, as well as covering maintenance and fitter cover shifts for our other customers in Scotland and Northern England.
This is great role for someone with a mechanical, Auto Electrical or HGV background.
Duties for the Mobile Plant Mechanic / Plant Engineer / Field Service Engineer / Mobile Plant Engineer / Mobile Plant Fitter / Plant Engineer / Mobile HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician / Diesel Mechanic / Auto Electrician / Mechanical Engineer / Fleet Engineer:
Preventative Maintenance and scheduling servicing in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations.
Attend machine breakdowns at customer sites and effect repairs to avoid minimum down time.
Complete Pre Work Inspections.
Troubleshooting any defects on the machines.
Carry out all necessary repairs.
Carry out installation, repairs and modifications of Safety related systems utilised throughout the Rail industry.
Requirements for the Mobile Plant Mechanic / Plant Engineer / Field Service Engineer / Mobile Plant Engineer / Mobile Plant Fitter / Plant Engineer / Mobile HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician / Diesel Mechanic / Auto Electrician / Mechanical Engineer / Fleet Engineer:
Ideally you will be apprentice trained in construction/agricultural plant maintenance , be a time served mechanical fitter.
Have a good knowledge and understanding of auto-electrics, engines, transmissions and hydraulics and pneumatics.
Ability to diagnose faults on heavy construction equipment and commercial HGV's, as well as carry out repairs as required.
Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative.
A good understanding of I.T.
Willing to travel.
UK Driving Licence
Applicants must have excellent organisation and communication skills with a good understanding of health and safety legislation.
The ability to work flexible hours.
