EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is a subsidiary of Edvance, which is a joint venture between Framatome and EDF, established in 2018 in charge of the design and the realisation of nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide.
In particular, EDF EPR Engineering UK is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for Hinkley Point C (HPC) project and preparing the design replication and engineering activities for the Sizewell C (SZC) Project.
For the Sizewell C project, we are looking to recruit for the role of Diesels Team Lead.
The position operationally reports to the Sizewell C Project Director in Edvance.
The Diesels Team Lead is responsible and accountable for the delivery in cost, time and quality of all engineering services withintheir scope of work.
The scope of Nuclear Island (NI) Diesels branch includes :
- The Diesels Building
- The Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC (MEH) activities within the Diesels Building
- The following safeguard systems for the Nuclear Reactor:
- Essential Diesels Generation
Ultimate Diesel Generation
The Diesels Team Lead implements the best solutions to meet the needs of the project in relation to the Client (SZC Client NI Programme) and the other leads of the SZC project organization in Edvance; and relies on the expertise of the technical departments of Edvance and EPR-E.
The Diesels Team Lead will be more specifically in charge of:
- Production of deliverables or studies in response to customer needs on time and in compliance with quality and cost objectives, provide delivery performance overview and input to external forums
- Design of the products (such as systems and components) under his/her responsibility and in line with the replication strategy adopted for the project:
- Verification of the design and replicability requirements,manage the technical configuration
- Monitoring of design changes in the context of SZC,monitoring of plant performances, for the portion under his/her responsibility,
- Monitoring of the integration and verification / validation phases.
- Implementation of the SZC project strategy through adequate projectplanning, using operational procedures (transfer of HPC data, justification methods, implementation of design changes),
- The localisation of engineering activities in the UK, in agreement with technical departments while guaranteeing the performance of the project,
- The management of internal interfaces with other interested stakeholders within Edvance,
- The management of risks and opportunities in his/her area of responsibility.
To be considered, we require the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Degree qualified Engineer or equivalent qualification
- Proven successful experience in Nuclear Engineering
- Knowledge of EPR design, UK context is a benefit
- Experience in the management of multi-disciplinary teams on large projects
- Experience in project management
- Knowledge of System Engineering principles
- An experience on Diesels Generation would be a plus.

The Diesels Team Lead will be based in the UK (Bristol) and will require ad hoc travels to France (mainly Paris), London and the Sizewell site.
