Job Description

The Archdiocese of Liverpool is seeking a dedicated Building Surveyor to join our Surveying and Property Section. You will be covering a period of secondment while the substantive post holder takes on a more senior role. This position provides a unique opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to of the Northwests most varied and interesting estates.
This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about buildings and dedicated to supporting the mission and charitable objectives of the Archdiocese. You will play a vital role in supporting parishes and contributing to the effective stewardship of the Archdiocesan estate. Your responsibilities will include conducting inspections, managing projects, ensuring financial oversight, and advising on compliance with building regulations and health and safety standards.
The ideal candidate will have:Accredited building qualificationExperience working in the construction industryExperience undertaking condition surveysGood knowledge of construction and building pathologyExperience managing projects from start to completionStrong problem solving skillsAttention to detail and ability to identify defectsYou will need strong interpersonal skills and be able to manage successful relationships with multiple stakeholders from contractors to Parish Priests.
Travel across the archdiocese is expected.
Contract and salaryThis is a fixed-term, full-time position, salary is within the range £33,000 to £44,000. Salary offered will depend on candidate qualification and experience.
This position is initially offered on a fixed term basis for 2 years and may become permanent depending on the outcome of internal capacity review.
LocationSaint Margaret Clitherow Centre (Aigburth, Liverpool) with travel across the Archdiocese area expected.
Annual leave38 days which includes eight bank/public holidays.
PensionEmployees will be enrolled into the Peoples Pension Scheme with a contribution rate of 3%, and 5% contributed by the employer. The archdiocese will match employee contributions up to 6% of their pensionable salary.
