Prospero Teaching is currently seeking several Teaching Assistants for an OFSTED 'Outstanding' specialist school in Lichfield. This school provides exceptional education and support for children and young people aged 7-18 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism, and related conditions. The school is dedicated to fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment where every student can thrive.
Job Description:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will utilise your passion for sports and physical activity to enhance the educational and emotional development of our students. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the classroom teacher in delivering tailored educational programs that incorporate physical activity and sports, engaging students according to their individual needs.
- Supporting students aged 7-18 with SEMH, autism, and related conditions in both academic and physical activities, helping to build their confidence, resilience, and social skills.
- Assisting with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and motivated.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the holistic development of each student.
Requirements:
- A background in sports coaching, sports science, physical education, or a related field.
- A strong commitment to working with children and young people with SEN, particularly those with SEMH and autism.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students through physical activity and sports.
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years
