Are you an experienced Engineer? Have you had exposure to electrical, mechanical and refrigeration repairs in a warehouse/industrial environment? If so, then we might have the role for you!
Here at GXO, were currently recruiting for a Facilities & Maintenance Engineer to join us on our multi-temperature Iceland site in Swindon. Youll be responsible for ensuring that day-to-day tasks around the sites facilities are completed and that all repairs are carried out in a compliant, timely and cost-effective manner.
This is a full time, permanent position and youll be working any 5 days out of 7 and this is a 24/7 site, and you will want to flex sometimes for all shifts, this is logistics after all!

What youll do on a typical day:
- Carry out reactive and PPM work on a range of electrical and mechanical equipment, such as HVAC, boilers, CCTV, electric motors, and vehicle dock levelling equipment
- Conduct maintenance repair and installation work involved with the operation of a large industrial ammonia refrigeration plant
- Ensure that all actions are in line with appropriate compliance, guidance, warranties, and best practice
- work as part of the site engineering team of multi-skilled technician to provide a comprehensive maintenance and repair service to Warrington Regional Distribution Centre
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical, structural, and electrical engineering as well as all aspects of refrigeration to E.N 378-2000 standards
- Strong communication and team working skills, with a good attitude to work
- Time-served practical experience in an industrial electrical or mechanical environment, preferably with exposure to logistics
- A mechanical or electrical engineering qualification and health and safety certification (IOSH as a minimum)
