ALN Teaching Assistant
We are seeking Teaching Assistants with experience in supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)

Have you recently supported children or young adults with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)? We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to fostering their educational growth. This role will be essential in providing tailored support to enhance the learning experience of each student in your care.
Duties of ALN Teaching Assistants:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities tailored to the needs of students with a range of learning needs, including Autism, ADHD and SpLD.
- Provide one-on-one or small group intervention to reinforce learning concepts and assist students in achieving their academic and personal goals.
- Mentor students by encouraging positive behaviour, social skills, and emotional well-being.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a collaborative approach to each childs education.
- Support the preparation of classroom materials and resources to enhance the learning environment.
- Observe and report on student progress, behaviour, and any concerns to an appropriate member of staff.
- Assist in implementing strategies outside of the classroom to promote learning and personal development.
Requirements of ALN Teaching Assistants:
- Experience working with children, particularly those with Autism or ADHD is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students and staff.
- Ability to educate and mentor students in a supportive manner that promotes confidence and independence, both individually and in group settings.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping children succeed academically and socially.
Qualifications required of ALN Teaching Assistants:
- Relevant NVQ in childcare or related discipline would be advantageous.
- Team Teach training is desirable but not a requirement. Our in-house trainers can support you to gain this qualification.
