The service you will work in….

Wandsworth Mental Health Recovery and Rehabilitation service delivers support and interventions to 60 service users with mental health issues living in accommodation services across the Borough. The focus of the service is to provide medium to long term focused
rehabilitation and recovery support to adults with complex and enduring Mental Health conditions. The service is focused on promoting independence and preventing hospital admissions, delivering a person centred approach enabling choice and control for each individual to realise their potential, increasing service users' ability to manage their tenures, supporting accessing to training, education and employment, and working closely with other providers of support to the individuals including clinical staff and carers and family members. The High Support element comprises of 33 services users who live in one of four accommodation services which are staffed 24/7. Service users in the higher support houses need more support and prompting with their medication, personal and environmental health and may have a forensic history or dual diagnosis.

A day in this role looks like….
\n
As a Recovery Worker at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Mental Health and Complex needs Service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.
\n
A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:
\n
- \n
- To clearly articulate the aims and objectives, pathway and service model to people using the service so they can fully participate in and co-produce their support\n
- Empower service users to engage effectively in their liaisons with professionals within the community such as community mental health teams, social work teams, housing providers, health professionals, Job Centre Plus etc.\n
- Work flexibly as part of a team to ensure service coverage and that contractual obligations are\n
- Develop co-produced group activities, peer support networks and other community-based approaches to empowering service users to achieve their goals and aspirations and to encourage service users to access these opportunities.\n
- Actively monitor the health, wellbeing, safety and security of the service and its users ensuring all concerns are followed up promptly and in line with procedures\n
- Participate in the core work of the service, providing support to colleagues, carrying out tasks allocated by the service manager and using initiative to identify and deal with additional tasks as they arise.\n
- Ensure that administration is done in good time; that detailed, concise and accurate records are created contemporaneously and that confidentiality is appropriately maintained.\n
- Assist the manager to manage health and safety, repairs and maintenance of the\n
- To collect rents and service charges, and manage arrears proactively by following policy, protocol and procedure to support residents to maintain their tenancy and develop independent living skills by paying service charges & rent.\n
- Provide support the Team Manager and Senior Recovery Worker to manage voids across the\n
- Ensure referrals, assessments and service reviews are effective and\n
- Empower service users to develop independent living skills as part of a planned move on process.\n

We are looking for candidates who bring a combination of passion, expertise, and dedication to the table. To excel in this role, you should possess:

- Knowledge of issues affecting those individuals with a range of mental health conditions including crisis management, how to communicate effectively with these individuals and how to support them with dignity and respect.\n
- Knowledge of relevant Mental Health legislation e. Care Program Approach (CPA) processes.\n
- Understanding of the principles of recovery as an ethos and a range\n
- Ability to work as part of a team, on own initiative and to oversee induction of new peer staff and volunteers.\n
- Ability to work with statutory services e. NHS at the front line\n
- Awareness of health and safety\n
- Ability to work Monday to Sunday 00am - 5.00pm including working bank holidays.\n
- Good IT skills that including a working knowledge of functions in MS Word, Outlook and the internet.\n
- Good literacy and numeracy skills, able to produce clear written correspondence in hard copy or email.\n
- Demonstrable experience of working with individuals who have experienced mental health and/or dual diagnosis issues.\n
