The role:
In this role, the Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring it aligns with BS EN ISO 9001 standards. They will oversee a team of Quality Engineers, assign tasks, and support ongoing improvements to the QMS. Key duties include conducting internal audits, developing quality procedures, and managing corrective actions for non-conformances. The role also involves working closely with the Supply Chain team on supplier assessments, liaising with customers on quality issues, reviewing bids and contracts, and managing fault analysis for customer returns.
What we want from you:
- Proven experience managing a Quality Management System (QMS) in a design and manufacturing setting.
- Holds a minimum qualification of HNC/HND or equivalent, ideally in an engineering-related discipline.
- A confident and persuasive communicator, capable of engaging effectively at all levels of the business.
- Skilled in conducting and overseeing internal and supplier audits.
- Experienced in applying "8D" problem-solving techniques within SMEs and with suppliers, including tools such as 5-Whys and Ishikawa/Cause and Effect diagrams.
