Technical Manager - Housebuilder (Essex)
Salary: Up to £85,000 + 20% Bonus

Our client is a leading housebuilder with a strong presence across the UK. Known for delivering high-quality homes and developments, they are experiencing significant growth and expansion. To support this exciting phase, they are seeking a skilled Technical Manager to join their Essex team.
Role Overview
As the Technical Manager, you will play a key role in managing and coordinating the design and technical aspects of multiple residential development projects. You will work closely with land, commercial, and construction teams, as well as external consultants, to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of projects, from planning through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical team in preparing detailed designs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Manage external consultants (architects, engineers, etc.) to deliver accurate design solutions on time and within budget.
- Provide technical support to the land, planning, and commercial teams, ensuring that all development opportunities are fully optimized.
- Ensure all technical documentation and drawings are accurate, up to date, and approved as required.
- Coordinate with local authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure planning consents and building regulations are adhered to.
- Proactively identify and resolve any design and technical issues that may arise during the development process.
- Assist in the production and management of project budgets and technical programs.
- Attend regular design and progress meetings, both internally and externally, to ensure effective communication between all parties.
- Ensure that all developments meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability.
Requirements:
- A degree or equivalent in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Technical Manager or similar role within the residential development or housebuilding sector.
- Strong knowledge of building regulations, planning requirements, and technical design processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a collaborative approach to working with both internal teams and external consultants.
- Proficiency in design and technical software, including AutoCAD and BIM is an advantage.
- A detail-oriented and proactive approach to solving complex technical challenges.
- Full UK driving license.
