Job Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Engineering Manager, Innovation reporting to the Innovation Director. As the Senior Engineering Manager, Innovation you will spearhead the design and development of cutting-edge Dry Gas Seals and components, driving product innovation and excellence. As a key member of John Crane’s Innovation Leadership Team, you’ll collaborate closely with engineering peers, sales, and product management to align project outcomes with strategic business objectives. You’ll be at the forefront of new product development (NPD), ensuring seamless execution of projects within budget and timelines, while fostering a high-performing, agile engineering culture. With your leadership, you’ll mentor a talented team, set clear goals, and champion a customer-focused approach to exceed performance and regulatory standards. This role is based from our headquarters within Slough working Monday to Friday normal office hours. (Hybrid working)

Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Member of the Innovation Leadership team for John Crane. Collaborates with engineering peers in wider innovation team and Engineering Solutions teams to deliver on NPD projects.
- Develops and leads the engineering teams across locations. Collaborates with peers in Portfolio and Sales to align to stakeholder requirements..
- Collaborates with PLM and PLD for relevant product lines to ensure harmony between engineering projects and business needs.
- Ensure all engineering projects are driven to completion, on time and to budget
- Lead and Mentor a team of engineers in the development of new products
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment
- Set clear goals and performance expectations; conducts regular reviews and provides constructive feedback
- Generate objectives in line with business strategy.
- All Engineering activities managed through the agile frame work
- Drive Agile process soliciting VoC from Customers
- Establish working relationships with key customer engineering teams
- Drive innovation and ensure designs meet customer needs, performance specifications and regulatory requirements
The Individual
- Accredited bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Extensive experience within Mechanical Engineering
- Able to demonstrate experience of successfully leading a technical team
- Familiar with New Product Development process
