As they continue to embrace innovative technology to enhance project delivery, we are seeking an experienced Drone and Engineering Surveyor to join our team. This role will combine traditional surveying techniques with advanced drone technology to provide precise, efficient, and high-quality survey data across our projects.
Role Overview:
As a Drone and Engineering Surveyor, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of civil engineering and earthworks projects. You will be responsible for conducting drone surveys and providing engineering support across various project sites. Your ability to capture and process accurate data will help ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake the procedures as set-out in the latest Operations Manual
- Maintain the equipment, recording any work undertaken
- Positioning Ground Control Points (GCPs)
- Use the correct coordinate system and correction source to coordinate GCPs with GNSS equipment
- Upload the images for processing
- Capture images and videos for promotional use
- Undertake measurements using the datasets, such as stockpile volumes.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in engineering surveying, with a strong understanding of civil engineering and earthworks projects.
- Expertise in operating drones for surveying purposes, including knowledge of flight planning, data capture, and post-processing techniques.
- Familiarity with surveying software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Pix4D, DroneDeploy, or similar.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present complex survey data clearly and accurately.
- Understanding of volumetric and topographical surveying techniques.
- Full CAA Permission for Commercial Operations (PfCO) or GVC qualification, with a good understanding of drone regulations and safe flying practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with site teams and stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Full driving license and willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
