Metroline Manchester is a recently formed subsidiary of ComfortDelGro, in March 2024 we were awarded contracts to operate four franchises and join the Bee Network in Greater Manchester by Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA). Metroline was formed in 1989, fourth largest bus operator in London running about 17 percent of the city’s scheduled bus services and has been a part of the largest private land transport company Comfort Del Gro since 2000. Job Summary
Metroline Manchester are seeking an experienced and motivated Performance Supervisor to join our team within the Transport for Greater Manchester Operational Control Centre (OCC). In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of services across the Bee Network. As a Performance Supervisor you will have close collaboration with TfGM and other key stakeholders to monitor, manage, and enhance the performance of our bus operations in Greater Manchester. The role is based within the TfGM Control Suite and involves working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee real-time performance of Metroline bus services from the TfGM Control Suite, ensuring adherence to schedules and minimising delays.
- Coordinate with on-the-ground and depot based staff, including Mobile Route Performance Supervisors, to address operational challenges as they arise.
- Liaise with service delivery and operational teams, ensuring consistent communication and response to incidents, planned and unplanned delays to services.
- Lead the response to service disruptions, coordinating with relevant teams to mitigate impact on passengers and restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
- Provide guidance and support to staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, positivity and high performance.

Essential Criteria
- Previous experience in a public transport operations or control room environment.
- Strong understanding of Greater Manchester’s transport network and geography, including the Bee Network.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication and personal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
Hours of Work
You will be required to work 38 hours per week, comprising of 5 shifts of 9 hours each in accordance with a rotating shift pattern which will be provided to you at least 3 weeks in advance of it starting on a weekly basis.
The shift rota is drawn up in line with the operational requirements of the business.
