Consultant (equivalent to Account Manager) with 2-3 years' industry experience
We are looking for a talented Consultant (Public Affairs, PR, or property) to play a key role in our growing Northern office based in central Manchester.
The successful applicant will enjoy opportunities to work with a fantastic variety of clients, providing support across public affairs, property, corporate communications and social value. Although our core business is real estate and planning communications, we work for clients across many other sectors, including finance, food & beverage, retail and leisure, helping clients meet their commercial objectives.
Candidates must be excellent copy writers and strong personal communicators, able to express themselves confidently and articulately. Agency experience is an advantage but relevant experience inhouse is also highly desirable. Experience of property and planning communications, including community and stakeholder engagement, is desirable but not essential; so, if your skills match what we are looking for, we would love to hear from you!
The support we provide clients with is strategic in nature and often has a strong public affairs dimension. Political experience and understanding is therefore an advantage, for example experience of being a local councillor, or working for a political party or MP.
Key skills and character:
Positive, enthusiastic and problem-solving, with a strong character to enrich our team
Excellent copywriter, producing high-quality work on time, sometimes under pressure
A confident, articulate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
Organised, with strong time management skills and excellent attention to detail
Clear strategic thinker with problem solving abilities
Able to work independently, take the initiative and solve problems
Desirable experience:
Experience working in strategic communications, including public affairs, PR and property
Experience working in strategic communications inhouse
Record of successful client management and account development in agency
Familiarity with the planning system, including community and stakeholder engagement
Working for a political party or in a role linked to national or local politics
Responsibilities will include:
Owning relationships with clients and providing senior strategic communication counsel
Playing a key role in responding to new business briefs and pitching to prospective clients
Developing and delivering communication, campaign and engagement strategies
Working collaboratively with colleagues to provide quality assurance across accounts
Mentoring junior colleagues and playing a role in their professional development
In return you will work within a talented team of public affairs professionals in a well-established and well-respected consultancy, with excellent career and personal development opportunities.
