Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The Clinical Nurse Lead is the person responsible for the supervision and management of Clinical Nurse Managers located across the country, ensuring that the business runs successfully to budget and maintains the highest levels of quality and compliance.
The Clinical Nurse Lead will register with CQC as the Registered Nurse Manager Care 24-7. The role reports to the Senior Registered Manager.
Duties of the role will include (but are not limited to) to following:
Meet all regulatory requirements
- Maintain a high-level overview of quality and standards within the business working collaboratively with the Quality and Compliance Team.
- Assist and provide support to the Clinical Nurse Managers to achieve high quality standards throughout the business.
- Ensure compliance with the National Care Standards (CQC) and act upon any requirements that may be applied by the Care Inspectorate.
- Responsibility to ensure that all employees and agents of the Care 24-7 business adhere to national health and safety regulations, employment laws and regulations.
Develop the business
- Work with the Company Director in growing the business in line with an agreed strategy.
- Take responsibility for the delivery of the agreed business objectives.
- Ensure that the business plan and its objectives are understood, delivered and monitored the by relevant line management
Manage the safety and quality of the business
- Be responsible for the safe delivery of the service in line with legislative requirements and company policy and procedures.
- Undertake training and development to keep up to date with the law, best practice and changes in company policy. Apply this knowledge to day-to-day management and delivery of care.
- Understand and monitor health and safety in the workplace and in the field.
- Maintain full and accurate records and reporting systems in accordance with legal requirements and to ensure the effective running of the business.
- Implement quality management and improvement systems across the business. Carry out investigations relating to the quality of the service and use findings to make improvements.
Lead and manage staff
- Identify and develop staff roles and responsibilities within the team structures to underpin the operational development of the business.
- Educate and train Clinical Nurse Managers in relation to new clinical updates.
- Form a cohesive unit with Care 24-7 shared values and direction in collaboration with the core values of the CPL Group.
- Responsible for the performance management of the Clinical Nurse Managers and accountable for the performance management of the entire Healthcare team within your remit.
- Motivate regional teams to reach weekly/month/quarterly targets and KPI’s.
Promote the Business
- Develop relationships with key professionals representing a positive Company image.
- Act on the behalf of the Company Director in their absence seeking advice and support as required.
Requirements
- Candidates must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Candidates must have 2+ years of experience post registration.
- Candidates are required to have excellent interpersonal skills in addition to the ability to work independently and manage your own time.
- The ideal candidate will have a background in the care sector, with relevant qualifications and experience in aspects of nursing.
- Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
