Head of Horticultural Operations

We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic leader for the role of Head of Horticultural on behalf of our client, a leading commercial greenhouse operation based in West Sussex. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to take ownership of a critical role within our clients senior leadership team, with a key focus on innovation, sustainability, and the effective management of glasshouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership, overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring efficient, high-quality crop production.
- Maximise system efficiencies to enhance quality while controlling costs.
- Develop and implement CAPEX projects.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving new product development and operational advancements.
- Collaborate across departments to strengthen customer relationships and drive growth.
- Strategic execution of glasshouse utilisation, exploring new opportunities.
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have
- 10 + years of horticultural expertise, with 5 + years in glasshouse crops.
- Leadership experience, managing cross functional greenhouse teams.
- Proven experience of reducing operational costs without compromising quality.
- Experience in modern horticultural techniques and leading change initiatives.
- Proficiency in capital project planning and sustainable growing methods.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills for effective collaboration.
