Job Purpose
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in delivering digital infrastructure across the UK by building strong, collaborative relationships with our build partners. You will support the commercial and contractual management of a portfolio of telecoms projects, including new builds, city enhancement projects, and field service frameworks. You will work closely with our Supply Chain division to ensure high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Valuation & Payments: Value contractor work and certify interim and final payments.
- Project Variations: Assess and authorise the submission of project variations.
- Risk Mitigation: Review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks by implementing risk management policies.
- Commercial Expertise: Provide commercial and contractual advice to city build teams, including valuation certifications, claims handling, budget monitoring, and contract/workstream performance data.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong contractual relationships with build partners to ensure smooth project delivery.
Key Skills & Experience
- Commercial Management: Solid experience in commercial management and contractor procurement, ideally with working knowledge of NEC3 ECC forms.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers and partners, and resolve contractual issues.
- Project Oversight: Experience overseeing large capital expenditure projects.
- Data & Financial Skills: Proficiency in Excel and data management tools. Experience in interpreting and collating financial data using spreadsheets.
- Presentation & Reporting: Strong presentation and report-writing skills.
- Industry Experience: Background in construction, telecoms, civil engineering, or utilities is highly desirable.
