We are delighted to be exclusively bringing this unique role to market my client are a leading food ingredient manufacturer who are in a significant period of growth & investment. We are now looking to add a Bakery Ingredients/Applications expert into the NPD team as the Bakery Innovations Manager.

The Role:
This role will be hybrid, based in Coventry with weekly or bi-weekly fully expensed travel to a another UK based site.
In this role you will lead the product development Bakery activity, driving new product delivery (leap innovation & controlled product modifications for their client base, to help grow existing accounts and to attract new customers through market leading innovations/applications.
You will define and deliver against critical technology and commercial challenges to create step-change delivery of superior, authentic bakery product experiences, meeting current and emerging customer needs underpinned by technology and Bakery craftsmanship
You will have leadership capabilities and a strong understanding of the supply chain process of taking a product to market from to launch and finally to distribution to the customer/consumer.
Experience Required:
- Qualified baker or educated to degree level - Science degree, in Food Processing/ Food Science/ Food Technology, Chemistry or Biochemistry would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of the baking industry, ingredients, processes & applications is essential.
- NPD project management from Concept to Launch experience is essential.
- Collaborative working with purchasing, operations, quality, marketing and commercial teams
- Awareness of competitor products, consumer trends, supplier capability and IP protection.
- Good general supply chain and commercial understanding
- Knowledge of sustainable packaging and ingredient technology solutions.
