Our people work together in portfolio teams to make this happen but are managed by a
functional department with aligned expertise. The Operations department is responsible
for all Facilities Management Services and Capital Works.
We are looking to appoint an experienced professional to lead the Capital Works function
comprising 25 professional colleagues. The team is responsible for delivering £30m of
works per annum and providing technical advice and procurement support.

About The Role:
Capital Works Director is a new role created to provide a single point of leadership for our
Capital Project Management, Building Surveying and Quantity Surveying teams.
In combination, these established teams are responsible for the delivery of all our
construction activity through an actively managed pool of experienced main contractors,
specialist suppliers and framework consultants.
The QS team also support all operational procurement and supply chain management,
and our Building Surveyors provide technical advice to our Facilities and Asset Managers.
Key Accountabilities:
• Direct leadership of functional teams
• Delivery of all construction activity within the business
• Integration of capital works with facilities, asset & property management
• Consideration of corporate business imperatives at all stages of the process
• Oversight and development of an actively managed supply chain
• Expert, professional support to the wider organisation
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• A Construction Professional with at least 10 years’ experience in a
senior/leadership role
• A broad record of capital programme delivery and supply chain development
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of successful team leadership
• An effective communicator able to support shared understanding across functions
• Demonstrable success with and/or within an operational business
