Purpose of the Job:
- Responsible for ensuring Consumer Eyecare products are as sustainable as possible, developing and implementing the sustainability strategy, ensuring a sustainable & responsible supply chain, and leading engagement with key stakeholders for sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure strategy aligns with corporate and customer sustainability strategies
- Support country launches of Consumer Eyecare products (Lens and Screen Cleaning & eye care range) including regulatory compliance and alignment with sustainability strategy
- Contribute to technical supplier development for Consumer Eyecare products with international suppliers to ensure responsible and sustainable sourcing of products.
- Manage external regulatory and technology consultants/partners to supplement internal expertise
- Ideally the candidate will have a proven track record of delivering against sustainability and product strategies while working in FMCG or similar industry. They will have experience working in collaboration with their cross functional team members and ensuring strong engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

Objectives:
- To ensure our products are as sustainable as possible
- To ensure our products are compliant with sustainability regulations across all countries in which they are available.
- To be the custodian of all sustainability information ensuring it is complete, up to date and auditable
- To provide technical support to procurement
- To ensure suppliers meet their responsibilities from a sustainability and regulatory perspective
- Key Requirements of the role include:
- Develop, plan and implement sustainability roadmap for consumer eyecare products
- Play a key role in planning and implementing the product and technology roadmaps
- Ensure our products are regulatory compliant and future -proof across all countries
- Identify, contract and manage external regulatory and sustainability consultants/partners to supplement internal expertise
- Provide sustainability and regulatory leadership in the management and development of suppliers
- Champion and lead projects to improve our sustainability across both product and packaging
- Execute a structured and auditable trail for all projects, aligning standards with the Global Team
- Collaborate effectively with key internal stakeholders in Birmingham and across CVZ Worldwide
- Provide support for the Global Marketing Manager and Director as required
Required Knowledge & Experience:
Must Have:
- Proven academics: Degree qualified in STEM or relevant subject
- 3-5 years working in a sustainability role with proven track record of delivering relevant outcomes
- Experience of working within a consumer focused packaged goods/ healthcare industry with transferrable skills
- Experience of working in a highly regulated environment
- Experience of working with external (regulatory) agencies and suppliers
- Proven ability to work and collaborate with a dispersed team to deliver results
- Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to Globally Travel – US/Asia/Europe
- Proven skills: PC literate, Microsoft application competency: Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- An inquisitive mind to keep up to date with sustainability initiatives
- Strong analytical mindset and data focused
Desirable:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience of a highly regulated environment
- Technical qualification in Sustainability
- Packaging development experience
