An experienced Electrical Design Engineer sought for a leading manufacturer of hi-tech capital equipment who are true specialists in their industry. The main responsibilities of the Electrical Design Engineer are to undertake the design, development and testing of electrical control systems.
This role will be suited to an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a strong electrical controls and automation engineering background designing and developing complex machinery or systems.
The Role:
- Write control specifications and modifications for new and existing products
- Design electrical circuits for the development and production of laser wire processing machines using ePLAN or similar electrical design software
- Generate build documentation and parts lists for the purchasing department.
- Write commissioning procedures for machines.
- Keep up with the latest standards that are applicable to electrical control systems.
- Work with electrical suppliers to ensure cost effective solutions are found.
The Person:
- Qualified to a minimum of HND or preferably degree level in electrical or electronic engineering.
- Electrical drawing package experience (preferably ePLAN)
- Electrical machine/control panel design experience with reference to risk assessment and applicable safety standards.
- New product introduction experience – design, build, commission and test.
- Willingness to travel and undertake customer visits if required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
