Redstone Commodity Search have been retained by a leading player in the global commodities market, specialising in energy & metals derivatives . As they continue to expand, they are seeking a London based experienced and dynamic individual to build and develop a new precious metals business.
Role Overview
The Head of Precious Metals will be responsible for overseeing and driving the strategic direction, operational management, and profitability of the precious metals division. This role requires a deep understanding of the precious metals market, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to develop and implement strategies that will enhance our market position and drive growth.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks
- Responsible for building, shaping and executing the global strategy for the new precious metals business, aligning with overall company goals.
- Build, lead, and manage a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Oversee all trading and marketing activities ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Work closely with the internal departments to establish global precious metal operations & logistics processes.
- Drive business development initiatives to expand market share and increase profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including clients and senior management providing regular updates on the business performance and strategy as required.
- Provide thought leadership and insights into the precious metals market, representing the company at industry events and conferences.
- Prepare and manage budgets and forecast for the division.
- Role reports to the Managing Director of Metals.
Key Qualifications / Experience
- Minimum 10 years’ experience within the precious metals industry, with a strong track record in a leadership role.
- In depth knowledge of precious metals trading, market dynamics, and regulatory environment.
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful business strategies.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and financial analysis.
- Ability to make strategic decisions to solve short-term and longer-term challenges.
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in financial modelling and market analysis tools.
- Located in with the right to work in the UK.
