Here at Forvis Mazars we provide bespoke advice in all areas of taxation, helping our clients to navigate the complexities of tax codes, often in multiple jurisdictions, and to help them ensure they are fulfilling all their obligations and paying the correct amount of tax. In this way we help them to manage an area of significant financial and reputational risk and to make properly informed decisions about their tax position whether they are an individual, a business owner or a corporate organisation.

About the role
\n
To help the Birmingham office grow our Tax Advisory offering by building relationships with our clients, adopting best practice processes, use of technology and continuous process improvement and to develop our people.

- Understanding our clients' issues and anticipating their needs whilst also helping them to manage their risk.\n
- Negotiating and raising fees and being responsible for WIP management on our portfolio of clients. \n
- Developing the wider team, through technical excellence, soft skill development and on the job training. This will include appraising more junior members of the team including objective setting and having the ability to encourage and foster development of the team. \n

What are we looking for?

- \n
- ACA and/or CTA (or qualified by experience)\n
- Extensive experience of working with a portfolio of clients (ranging from new startups to established PE backed or family-owned businesses) to provide rich advisory services\n
- Demonstrate broad and strong technical tax knowledge and experience, specifically R&D tax relief and Patent Box, Transactions taxes, corporate reorganisations and restructuring tax;\n
- Experience of identifying opportunities for business development on tax clients (and ideally across other service lines)\n
- Ideally proficient in Alphatax. But as this role is an advisory role this is less important. A range of skills and experience will be required.\n
- Experience of collaborating on projects with colleagues in other service lines, including but not limited to external audit, private client, company secretarial, restructuring services, management consulting, valuations, and forensic investigations services.\n
- This is a very varied role and provides a great opportunity for you to develop the skill needed to become a tax partner.\n
