A brilliant opportunity to take the next step within a reputable and well-known FTSE 100 global brand who are excited for a Category Director to join the team.
Joining a new Group Procurement team and lead in an early-stage transformation journey. Drive high performance, value for money, and resource efficiency. Oversee and Category leads for IT/Digital, Marketing, and Sustainability/ESG initiatives. This role will be key in shaping strategic sourcing, manage supplier relationships, consolidate vendors, and ensure compliance across the group. Dynamic team who are looking to make meaningful change and shaping the procurement team in the long-term.
What the role involves:
- Develop and implement category strategies across IT and Marketing and creating long-term strategies
- Leading the sustainability initiatives for the procurement team and being the key point of contact with the sustainability team
- Responsible for optimising performance of resource to deliver the business objectives
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels within the organisation
- Optimise the value of the Supply Chain Sustainability School and lead our Supply Chain Diversity efforts.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the business on all spend-related matters in this category.
- Upskilling and managing a small team of category managers and commercial analysts
- Supporting the development and delivery of SRM framework
The person we hope to find
- Experienced across leading/category planning and management across IT/Outsourcing, indirects and Sustainability/ESG
- Experienced in reporting to Board level and working within senior leadership
- Experience building and managing a team
- Strong experience and background in leading large and complex sourcing activities.
- Excellent written, verbal and numerical communication skills
- Strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of identifying and delivering substantial margin improvement
- Strong negotiator with suppliers
- Experience in delivering measurable cost savings through successful supply chain management
- Experience in building and engaging senior stakeholders and fostering positive relationships cross functionally
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Self-starter, flexible and willing to adapt to change
