Position: Project / Contracts Manager
Location: West Sussex/ London (Primarily site-based - A3 focused with central London and M25 as target areas.)
Salary: £40,000 - £65,000 (Negotiable DOE)
A growing business, who provide residential and office interiors, are looking to add to their team with a project/contracts manager.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management and contract administration, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality design projects. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a deep understanding of the interior design industry.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Project Management:
- Lead and oversee interior design projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and schedules, coordinating with design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth execution.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure design implementation aligns with client expectations.
- Manage all project documentation, including design briefs, change orders, and project reports.
Contract Management:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Management of subcontractors.
- Maintain and update a database of all contracts, including tracking deliverables, deadlines, and payments.
Client & Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, keeping them informed of project status and addressing any concerns or changes.
- Organize and lead project meetings, including kick-off meetings, design reviews, and progress updates.
- Conduct pitches, presentations and initial meetings with clients.
Budget & Financial Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and financial objectives are met.
- Review and approve invoices from suppliers and subcontractors.
Ideal Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in project management and/or contract administration within the interior design, architecture, or construction industries.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and software.
- Experience with estimating is highly desirable.
- Experience managing subcontractors.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong experience managing project budgets and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
