To manage, a 24 hour bake-off manufacturing operation to meet and exceed our budgeted cost, quality, service and health and safety targets and drive employee engagement.
· Lead the area production team, be visible and hands-on and own your production area, motivating your team across all 4 shifts. Each shift having approx. 35 members of staff
· Responsible for the recruitment, induction, training and development of your teams and for appraising their performance and developing succession plans.
· Effectively manage the people in your area by setting clear standards of behaviour and performance and addressing any issues with these appropriately and resolving areas of conflict between people where necessary. Conduct investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, performance management and absence management processes and appeals where required in accordance with the company policy.
· Take overall responsibility for health, safety and environmental standards within production area.
· Responsible for ensuring compliance with Company Food Safety, GMP and Hygiene policies and procedures at all times
· Take overall responsibility for quality, food safety and hygiene standards within production area.
· Be an active and contributing member of the site Q&FS Committee and HACCP team.
· Ensure the Production area exhibits a robust approach to 5S and remains in an audit/tour-ready condition at all times.
· Ensure all staff have received adequate Q&FS training for the role they perform and are not working without evidence of training. Monitor, audit and take action to redress any non compliance.
· Support the development of the annual budget for your area and actively analyze and manage your costs against the agreed budget to ensure departmental spend is in line with budget.
· Drive continuous improvement of the operation to improve efficiency and departmental costs.
· Collaborate with external departments (Sales, Marketing, NPD, etc.) to identify areas of Commercial opportunity Develop a high level of understanding of the production area, processes, products and all quality procedures.
· Collaborate with Planning and other colleagues to develop a challenging yet achievable production schedule and ensure delivery of the schedule on a daily and weekly basis.
· Develop, and ensure robust adherence to, process and machine standards. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance.
