Financial Controller

Salary: £52,000 per annum with review after 6 months

Your role as a Financial Controller will involve ensuring that the organisation meets its financial requirements and providing accurate and timely information to directors to support effective business decisions for the company.
Key Responsibilities of the Financial Controller:
Coach, motivate and mentor all members of the finance team ensuring they are doing their role effectively and efficiently.
Once a week meeting with staff to review workload and priorities.
Review oversees credit control and debt management.
Oversee sales and purchase ledgers
Journal postings
Bank Reconciliations for all company accounts.
Review of costs for business.
Accruals and Prepayments checks
Ensure the timely preparation and submission of the quarterly VAT and PVA returns, making sure all submissions comply with the specified deadlines.
Assisting with Year End Accounts and Audit
Fixed Asset Maintenance
Assisting with profitability analysis
Foreign currency reconciliations
Cash forecasting for rolling 3 months
Reconciliation of Factoring Accounts for invoice and cash uploads
Run stock valuations and analyse
Improvements of processes and schedules for accounting records
Produce monthly management accounts
Ensure that the monthly reporting pack provides the information for the business to make effective decisions
Prepare annual financial statements
Produce financial forecasts as required by banks etc
Maintain Asset and depreciation schedules
The ideal Financial Controller:
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller role or similar
- Experience using various accounting packages – Tyresoft accounting package knowledge would be an advantage
- Qualified, part-qualified, or Qualified by Experience (QBE) in finance or accounting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
