The role and the team
We're looking for a passionate Product Manager to join the Product and Design department. You’ll take the helm of one of the key “Member facing” product teams, whose purpose is to keep giffgaff growing in the mobile space.
You’ll be leading a x-functional team, empowered to find the best solutions to our users’ problems, in a way that creates value for the business. Fuelled by insights, you will have a focus on driving positive outcomes over delivering output.
You'll need to be a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail. You'll be curious about continuous improvement for your product and understanding your end-users. You’ll be keen to embrace a “test and learn” mentality, sharing success stories and key learnings with the rest of the business.
We work in an agile environment, where collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. You must be strong at communicating clearly and effectively.

Key responsibilities
- Reporting into the Group Product Manager, guide the product team to focus on the most important problems to solve and goals to pursue
- Collaborate with a x-functional team to discover, test and iterate on opportunities
- Be outcome driven, taking full ownership of OKRs and provide regular reporting against OKRs for your team.
- Be proficient with data to understand the performance of your product, and be insight led when forming future plans.
- Be adept at problem solving and formulating hypotheses, with the ability to frame problems and solutions clearly and communicate them to others.
- Build strong relationships and trust with stakeholders and senior leaders, effectively communicating your road map and product mission, and influencing others to ensure the right priorities are being worked on.
- Have a test and learn mentality, constantly striving to experiment and iterate to gather user feedback at pace
- Be responsible for leading product launches and assessing post-launch performance.
- Be the voice of giffgaff’s members - immerse yourself in insights and trends from competitor analysis, user research and qualitative member feedback and quantitative data to inform new ideas and optimisation
- Explore and champion long-term plans, thinking creatively, assessing results and celebrating success.
Skills, experience and attitudes
We’d like someone with an insight-driven, member-first mentality with a collaborative attitude and experience in product definition and delivery. You will need a proven ability to lead, inspire, motivate and communicate expertly.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have experience as a Product Manager, or similar role, working day-to-day as part of the Product team to deliver valuable change using agile design principles
- Be commercially focused – able to prioritise based on value and demonstrate the impact of problem-solving on business KPIs
- Be passionate about making members (our customers) lives easier
- Have experience working with cross-functional teams – including Product Design, Technology, Marketing, Commerce, Finance and Legal
- Comfortable with technical conversations – initiating and understanding them
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence at all levels
- Confident working with ambiguity – able to set a clear product vision and get buy-in from senior stakeholders
It is desirable, but not essential, to have experience of the following:
- CSPO qualification
- Agile coaching or training (tech and non-tech audience)
- An understanding of the telecommunications industry
