An exciting opportunity is available for a talented AML Compliance Lead to join the vibrant Risk & Compliance team at the Manchester head office. This newly created role offers the chance to shape AML and sanctions compliance strategy and make a significant impact.
AML Officer - Central Manchester
In this role, you'll step into a position that allows you to lead and influence compliance practices and policies. Opportunities for professional growth are available, with the chance to expand your expertise in AML and beyond. Enjoy a hybrid work environment with the option to work remotely one day a week, along with occasional travel to the Liverpool and London offices. You will engage with a supportive team of professionals and work closely with partners, fee earners, and compliance experts.

Key Responsibilities
- Leading the firm-wide risk assessment process by analyzing data from file reviews, onboarding, and client assessments
- Assisting fee earners with complex client due diligence, addressing reputational, ethical, and sanctions issues
- Develop and deliver impactful AML training sessions to elevate the team’s compliance knowledge
- Collaborating with IT to optimize file-opening workflows and electronic ID verification processes
- Continuous improvement of AML policies, processes, and systems to ensure top-tier compliance is expected
- Cultivating relationships with key internal stakeholders to streamline compliance operations
Key requirements
- The ideal candidate will have a degree-level qualification and a strong desire to advance their career in AML, with a commitment to learning and development
- A minimum of 2 years in an AML or compliance role within a law firm, is required, along with a deep understanding of AML regulations and sanctions
- Proficiency in MS Office, client intake software, and financial crime databases is essential
- Can use initiative and make decisions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a high level of professionalism
- Ability to work under pressure
