A new role leading a progressive manufacturing business in the sustainable packaging sector. Part of a highly successful Group, based in Yorkshire, our client is the largest independent packaging company in the UK. Following a strategic acquisition and other operating model improvements, the 5 year plan has been delivered in 5 months for the Site concerned. The target is to deliver 20% year on year growth.
This role offers autonomy but with the benefit of Group resources to draw upon when required.
Reporting directly to the Group Managing Director, the successful candidate will be a member of the Group Management team. This is a true leadership role with genuine challenge and career enhancement opportunity. The transformation of the Site has encompassed state-of-the-art plant improvements, enabling digital technology and new working practices.
Applicants must have the appropriate leadership credentials in Manufacturing Operations from either packaging, print or related industry. Accustomed to working in a professional HSE environment, operationally strong, with an impressive track record in continuous improvement and KPI measurement. Informed strategic and commercial acumen, data rationale and customer focused; a commitment to exceptionally high standards of delivery.
We are seeking a motivational leader to deliver operational excellence, continuous improvement and high levels of colleague engagement. Able to engage with impact, effectively communicate, influence and inspire at all levels, internally and externally when required.
Candidates must convey stature, credibility and presence: physical and intellectual. Strategic and visionary in orientation with equal ability to grasp the detail and make informed tactical and operational decisions. This is a ‘think’ and ‘do’ appointment and culture; collaborative and team oriented. The successful candidate will be expected to embrace and contribute to that culture.
