Overview:
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company based in Sevenoaks, is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate with over 2 years of commercial experience in a similar role, who is looking to further their career in a supportive and professional environment. Experience using SAGE 50 is essential.
Key Responsibilities:

Processing invoices: Accurately input and process purchase and sales invoices

Bank reconciliations: Regularly perform reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records

Credit control: Assist in monitoring outstanding payments and liaising with customers to ensure timely payment

Accounts payable/receivable: Maintain and manage supplier and customer accounts

VAT returns: Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns

Assisting with payroll: Provide support in payroll processing as required

Supporting month-end processes: Assist in closing accounts, preparing financial statements, and producing reports

General administration: Ensure accurate record-keeping and filing of financial documents

Liaising with external auditors: Support in preparing documentation for external audits

Ad hoc finance duties: Provide additional support to the finance team as required.
Key Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years’ commercial experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role

Proficient in using sage 50 accounting software

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices

Experience with bank reconciliations, invoicing, and VAT returns

Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines

Good communication skills and ability to liaise with both internal teams and external stakeholders

Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask

A proactive and team-oriented mindset
Desirable:
- AAT qualification or working towards a professional accounting qualification would be an advantage but not essential.
